Gerard Debaets in New Jersey

Bill Mallon was kind enough to share this picture of Gerard Dabaets with this note: [A picture] of my Dad from the 1940s. He is the guy on the left on the photo. Standing next to him - the non-rider was his coach in northern New Jersey in the 30s and 40 - Gerry Debaets - a top 6-day rider and Tour of Flanders champion in 1924 & 1927. Just an FYI. He was my a close friend of my father and when I was 4-5 years old (circa 1957) I remember hanging around his bike shop on Saturdays with my Dad and playing with the gears and getting all dirty and greasy.
