Simoni Stortoni crosses the line for second. He looks like his dog died and someone stole his truck rather than a fine reuslt after a tough stage

Vinokourov being escorted by his Astana teammates (and being stalked by Liquigas). The Astana boys couldn't stay with him today when the road turned vertical. Doesn't bode well for the Dolomites.

I guess Alessandro Petacchi literally bags it. Bronchitis forced him to abandon.

2000 Giro winner Stefano Garzelli is riding wonderfully this year. If he had a stronger team I'd think he would be fighting for a podium spot in Milan. Maybe he will anyway.
