Here's the race organzier's report:

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) won the fourteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia 107, the 31.2 km Castiglione delle Stiviere-Desenzano del Garda Tudor ITT. Second and third place went to Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) and Thymen Arensman (Ineos Grenadiers) respectively.

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) remains in the Maglia Rosa as leader of the general classification.

The stage winner Filippo Ganna, immediately after the finish, declared: “I suffered a lot today. Winning in a time trial is not like winning in a sprint, you have to wait up to two hours and it increases stress. I was very excited after arriving, we are in Italy and for me it is special to race in my country, also considering the proximity to the Montichiari Velodrome which is a second home for me. Six time trial wins at the Giro are a great result, just as the team's result is excellent, with Thomas and Arensman gaining in the general classification. Tomorrow will be an intense day, before a week in which we will have to fight a lot."

Tadej Pogacar was second in the stage and retained his GC lead. RCS photo

Here's the report from stage winner Filippo Ganna's Team INEOS Grenadiers:

Filippo Ganna flew to victory in stage 14’s 31 kilometer time trial, with five Grenadiers in the top 12 to cap off a remarkable day in Italy.

Ganna hit the course early and looked strong throughout, setting the fastest times at both the first and second time checks, before beating fellow Grenadier Tobias Foss into second place on the line.

It would be a long wait for the Italian before the stage win was confirmed, with many strong riders going well, but not challenging the Italian’s time. Magnus Sheffield was the close to challenging Pippo on the day, but an unfortunate crash saw him out of the running. He would remount and still place 12th overall.

The duo of GC riders, Geraint Thomas and Thymen Arensman, would both set impressive times to finish fourth and third on the day respectively, with G retaking second overall, and Thymen moving up to sixth place on GC.

The stage win would be confirmed when Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) came home in second place, 29 seconds back on ‘Top Ganna’.

The Grenadiers would finish the day with five riders in the top 12, with Ganna taking the win, Thymen and G in third and fourth respectively. Tobias Foss would place eighth, with Magnus in 12th.
