Hi, and welcome to the start of the 2015 racing season. I'd like to take a moment to thank you all for visiting our site. Traffic to BikeRaceInfo.com in 2014 was almost double 2013's. We plan to make BikeRaceInfo even better in 2015 with more tech articles as well as more and deeper race results. Again, thanks for your support.
We're starting off the season on Friday, January 2 with the Mitchelton Wines Bay Cycling Classic in Australia. The race runs through the fifth.
After that, there is a wait until January 18 for the next race we'll report, the Down Under Classic, also in Australia. The next day is the start of Argentina's Tour de San Luis, ranked 2.1 by the UCI, and then on the 20th will be the start of the season's first World Tour competition, the Santos Tour Down Under, again in Australia.
Increased Penalties For Doping
BBC reports that changes to the World Anti-Doping Code has increased the suspension for doping from two to four years. Missed tests will not be treated as leniently as before, but there is the possibility of penalty reductions for helping investigators.
Here is the whole BBC story.
