2017 Tour of Flanders (Ronde van Vlaanderen) route revealed

More later, but the route of the 2017 Ronde has been revealed. It will be 260 kilometers long and have 18 climbs. The start has been moved from Brugge to Antwerp.

European Bicycle Manufacturers’ Association denies having requested dumping investigation on China-made E-Bikes

BRUSSELS, Belgium – Last week on November 22 the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products held an ‘Alert Meeting on the EU anti-dumping investigation for e-bikes.’ The European Bicycle Manufacturers’ Association (EBMA) denies to have submitted an application to the European Commission requesting to start an investigation on the dumping of e-bikes and speed e-bikes made in China and exported to the EU member states.

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products notification for the Alert Meeting said, “We recently learned that an application has been submitted to the European Commission by the European Bicycle Manufacturers Association, requesting to start an investigation on the anti-dumping of e-bikes and speed e-bikes made in China, the HS codes of the investigated products are 87119010 and 87119090. According to the provisions of EU anti-dumping legislation, the Commission will decide within 45 days from receiving the application whether it be put on record officially.”

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products notification continues with, “According to the ‘Provisions on Responding to Anti-Dumping Actions of Export Products’ by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Chamber is in charge of the organization and coordination of the responding cases. To assist the enterprises to respond to this case, an alert meeting will be held on Nov 22, 2016 in Beijing, to early notice information, learn business opinions, analyze the case and discuss coping strategies. The Trade Relief Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce will appoint an authority for guidance.”

Revolution Cycling Champions League

This isn't an event we normally cover, but Team Sky & Giant-Alpecin had these updates:

Here's what Team Sky reported after Round 1 in Manchester:

The Team Sky pairing of Elia Viviani and Pete Kennaugh put in a strong and consistent performance to place fourth at the inaugural Revolution Champions League event. The series opener played out in front of an excited Manchester crowd, with Sky's duo ensuring they were the top WorldTour team across the two days of action.

Climbing from fifth spot overnight, Rio omnium champ Viviani and London 2012 team pursuit winner Kennaugh put on a great show with some attacking riding over the nine events, racking up a total of 102 points.

The JLT Condor outfit of Ed Clancy and Jon Mould emerged victorious from the three sessions, taking an impressive win by a margin of 27 points over nearest rivals Team Pedalsure.

Elsewhere Team Sky 2017 recruits Owain Doull and Jon Dibben were in action in the colours of Wiggins. Doull bounced back from an opening night crash in the points race, while Dibben was able to show off his rainbow jersey in the same event.

One week after his podium at the Ghent Six Day, Viviani was happy to be back on the boards and full of praise for the new Champions League format.

"For sure it's quite strange to see all these WorldTour team jerseys on the track but there's been some really full-gas racing," said the Italian. "These are all really competitive riders, even though it's November so it's not really our best period. Everyone has been pushing hard and really trying to make the best show for the crowd. Every year at Revolution the fans are special - and I think it's been a good start to the Champions League."

Viviani was resplendent in a gold helmet and shoes, as well as a new shiny blue custom Pinarello track bike. "This bike is a special one," he added. "After Rio Pinarello wanted to do a really classy bike in blue with some small gold graphical details. It looks amazing and it seems the fans really like it. Pinarello are always making special bikes for us Team Sky riders so I really need to say thank you to them."

And here's what Giant-Alpecin sent me about the next round:

The Revolution Champions League continues this weekend with the final round of track events taking place in London (UK) on the 2nd and 3rd of December. After a successful first round in Manchester, organized by a unique cooperation between Velon and Revolution Series, Ramon Sinkeldam (NED) and Zico Waeytens (BEL) took seventh place in the final overall classification. For this weekend, it will be Nikias Arndt (GER) and once again Waeytens representing Team Giant-Alpecin as one of the seven WorldTour teams in action at the Revolution Champions League.
