Olympic Women's 500-Meter Track Time Trial Results
The kilometer (often called the "Kilo") and its women's equivalent, the 500-meter time trial, is a individual track race timed from a standing start. It is an event at which sprinters excel.
Generally competitors use fully aerodynamic bikes with front and rear disc wheels.
The women's 500-meter time trial was held only at the Sidney and Athens games. The men's kilo was discontinued after the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
This was part of a general reordering of Olympic track events to make room for BMX. Arghh.
