The finish: Alexandre Vinokourov (T-Mobile) wins the stage, Leipheimer preserves his GC lead.
Near the top: Vinokourov and Gomez- Marchante are in the front. Then Leipheimer, then Van Huffel. Over 40 seconds back are Landis, Armstrong and Moncoutie. The break has been caught.
10 km to go and on Mt. Ventoux: Only Jaksche and Gutierrez are left of the break. If my French can be trusted (it can't), Leipheimer, Armstrong and the other GC men are 35 seconds back. I think Heras has been dropped. Armstrong came off the front chasing group with Leipheimer but got back on.
At Km 126: They've been moving rather fast. The average speed to this point is 52.56 km/hr. There is a break of 7 who are about 4 minutes ahead of the pack: Nicolas Vogondy (Crédit Agricole), Daniel Becke (Illes Baleares), José Gutierrez (Phonak), Jorg Jaksche (Liberty Seguros), Devis Miorin (Liquigas), Constantino Zaballa (Saunier Duval), Elia Rigotto (Domina Vacanze).
