| Nicki Sorensen and Sylvain Calzati attacked their break companions with about 20 km to go and Sorensen went solo with less than 5 to go. He made it stick. | |||

| Cavendish win the field sprint. I think this answers the big question. Is Cavendish going for stage wins or the green jersey? I don't think he'd be wasting energy on a minor placing if he didn't want to wear green in Paris. | |||
