Stage 9 finish

Rodriguez took off on the final climb and only Gilbert recognized the winning move for what it was and joined him. Paolo Tiralongo can be seen back in the distance.

Philippe Gilbert & Joaqin Rodriguez

That worked for both of them. Gilbert gets the stage win and Rodriguez carved out a little more time.

Paolo Tiralongo

Paolo Tiralongo escaped the fast-moving peloton to get third.

Philippe Gilbert

Phillip Gilbert's first win in about a year. Happy teammate Mauro Santambrogio is in the foreground.

Philippe Gilbert

Has Gilbert peaked for the Worlds?

Joaquin Rodriguez

Is Rodriguez going to pull this off. Will he keep battering everyone on these hilltop finishes and gain enough time to withstand the inevitable loss in the time trial?
