Chris Horner attacked from about 4.5 kms to go and increased his lead all the way to the end.
Vincenzo Nibali bolted with about 2 km to go, but never but a dent into Horner's gap.
Niether Joaquin Rodriguez nor Alejandro Valverde (green jersey) displayed Vuelta-winning form today.
